The audience cheered loudly when Bebben Johansson's long shot in the 8th minute became 1-0 when the ball went to the left of and passed Sören Tunberg. Anders Lundqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bayan Baye, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Loco Durazno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sören Tunberg having to interfere. Anders Lundqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nils-Arne Nilsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anders Lundqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bayan Baye in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute Wargön were awarded a corner. Artur Buba went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Wargön's Roger Stephansson getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Walter Closet hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bayan Baye in the 26th minute of play forced Golden Lions FC's goalkeeper Anders Lundqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 2-0 became the score in the 27th minute when Loco Durazno elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nils-Arne Nilsson in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anders Lundqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sören Tunberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loco Durazno in the 35th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Loco Durazno got free with Sören Tunberg in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Golden Lions FC's Bebben Johansson got a free kick in the 46th minute. Anders Lundqvist came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Wargön's Bayan Baye. But to his dismay, Bayan Baye quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nils-Arne Nilsson was the one to do the kick off. Mikael Liberatore might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anders Lundqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mikael Liberatore ran back to his position shaking his head. 60 minutes into the match, Golden Lions FC's goalkeeper Anders Lundqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mikael Liberatore.
