The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, one of Futbol Club RRFV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Diego Melendez came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Futbol Club RRFV's Noel Pombal. But to his dismay, Noel Pombal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Diego Melendez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Pombal in the 12th minute of the match. Diego Melendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Guilherme Mesquita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led Futbol Club RRFV's Dedê Freire to fire away a dangerous shot which Diego Melendez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Diego Melendez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorival do Vale in the 17th minute of the match. Diego Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Senna in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Eugenio Beturian fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fernando Miguel, passed just outside the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by César Brito during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, Futbol Club RRFV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Brito to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the game, Dorival do Vale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Futbol Club RRFV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos de Buenos Aires FC the free kick. Dorival do Vale hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute of the match Roque Mercury shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Miguel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival do Vale in the 33rd minute of play forced Santos de Buenos Aires FC's goalkeeper Diego Melendez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 minutes of play Futbol Club RRFV's César Brito was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Futbol Club RRFV getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. César Brito hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, Diamantino Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diego Melendez. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diamantino Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Diego Melendez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diamantino Senna, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Dorival do Vale made the kick off in the second half. Santos de Buenos Aires FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Luís Guilherme Mesquita 51 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. In the 57th minute Diamantino Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Melendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diego Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Senna in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Suárez in the 62nd minute of play forced Futbol Club RRFV's goalkeeper Fernando Miguel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Calvet came free, but Fernando Miguel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Santos de Buenos Aires FC defense, Diamantino Senna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diego Melendez. The Santos de Buenos Aires FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diego Melendez should have stopped the shot. After 72 played minutes Santos de Buenos Aires FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Calvet. Diego Melendez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diamantino Senna in the 74th minute of play. With a little luck, Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Diego Melendez got control of the ball when Diamantino Senna tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Futbol Club RRFV booed when Santos de Buenos Aires FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Cuartas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Melendez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diamantino Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernando Miguel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximo Rufio in the 87th minute of play. Dorival do Vale received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Diego Melendez came out and tried to block the shot, but Dorival do Vale slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 93rd minute. Futbol Club RRFV's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
