Stig Byström made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Arnaldo Bide sent off a good shot on target. Arnaldo Hurko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Aron Bank had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfons Rönn in the 27th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Anier Oidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnaldo Hurko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Stig Byström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anier Oidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maria Lunden in the 37th minute of play. Anier Oidor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Max Sundin in the 45th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Max Sundin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alfons Rönn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Anier Oidor made a huge save. When Alfons Rönn came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the LA VIOLA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfons Rönn couldn't finish the play. Stig Byström came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by San Lorenzo's Diego Balendin. But to his dismay, Diego Balendin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 68thth minute of the game Luciano Urki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LA VIOLA's Stig Byström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 69 minutes, Maria Lunden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LA VIOLA and the San Lorenzo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute Diego Balendin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stig Byström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Per-Oskar Ståhlman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LA VIOLA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Lorenzo the free kick. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when LA VIOLA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Oskar Ståhlman didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alfons Rönn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 85 minutes on the clock, Vermudo Ortiz commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card.
