If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justino Kusko in the 26th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anier Seme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tiburcio Tino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Cositorto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Justino Kusko made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiburcio Tino's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the game, Antonio Arias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.F Cuervos Azulgranas the free kick. When A.F Cuervos Azulgranas's Tiburcio Tino in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. After 63 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Julian Hulberto who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Kusko, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Kusko in the 65th minute of play. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Julian Hulberto was slow to take the kick. During this time A.F Cuervos Azulgranas's players had a chance to rest. The corner led A.F Cuervos Azulgranas's Julian Hulberto to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 68 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Kusko in the 72nd minute of play. In the 75th minute Justino Kusko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justino Kusko in the 87th minute of play. Tiburcio Tino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anier Seme, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
