When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Alvito Helguera put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Alvito Helguera capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alvito Helguera really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Alcaraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvito Helguera. Nueva Adalucia's Larpe Cabrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alvito Helguera was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Mané Alcaraz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Ryszard Rzentkowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd match minute, Nueva Adalucia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabin Baltanas to maneuver through the defense. Larpe Cabrera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ryszard Rzentkowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Nueva Adalucia's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Larpe Cabrera made a huge save. In the 84th minute, Juvenal Soler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Larpe Cabrera having to make a save. Larpe Cabrera made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Nueva Adalucia getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Celino Valines hit a great ball. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ryszard Rzentkowski went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Nueva Adalucia were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
