After 5 played minutes, Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bruno Pascal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uruguay reached it. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Deportivo Gamberro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Hermon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alvaro Henrico, made in the 9th minute of the game. When Deportivo Gamberro's Roman Reynardo in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uruguay's goalie prevented a goal. Bruno Pascal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Reynardo in the 15th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Pascal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 18th minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Reynardo in the 25th minute of the match. Maximiliano Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Bruno Pascal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Gamberro's Marcelo Orti got a free kick in the 34th minute. Laureano Harri took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Mateo Garrido blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Pascal having to make a save. After some careless play in the Deportivo Gamberro defense, Maximiliano Escribano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Pascal. The Deportivo Gamberro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Pascal should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roman Reynardo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Carballal to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Rovan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Gamberro's Ambrosio Kepa got a free kick in the 54th minute. With a little luck, Deportivo Gamberro's Bruno Pascal got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Reynardo in the 57th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Deportivo Gamberro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Henrico to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Niceto Perpinya came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Niceto Perpinya's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. When Niceto Perpinya came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Deportivo Gamberro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niceto Perpinya couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Gamberro's Roberto Mosen got a free kick in the 70th minute. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Gamberro's Niceto Perpinya. But to his dismay, Niceto Perpinya quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Bruno Pascal made a huge save. Roberto Mosen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. In the 89th minute, one of Uruguay:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Uruguay. Bruno Beldad kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Niceto Perpinya struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Gamberro. Deportivo Gamberro's Niceto Perpinya got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Many of Uruguay's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Uruguay may have spent more time on the ball, but Deportivo Gamberro were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
