The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Piearres Somiedo sped through PLUMIN's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leonides Matteo. Sporting Buceo's Gilmar Cuadrillero got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leonides Matteo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nardo Tuo went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Leonides Matteo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piearres Somiedo in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Nardo Tuo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonides Matteo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Gilmar Cuadrillero scored 0-5 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leonides Matteo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Sporting Buceo booed when PLUMIN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Urdaspal didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Nardo Tuo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Sporting Buceo's Jaizki Colina got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 46th match minute, Sporting Buceo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kismi Tojedo to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorge Cristofol to make the kick off. In the 58th minute Nardo Tuo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonides Matteo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Nardo Tuo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leonides Matteo, 0-6. With a little luck, PLUMIN's Leonides Matteo got control of the ball when Nardo Tuo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Piearres Somiedo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leonides Matteo. That made the score 0-7 in the 66 minute of play. Gilmar Cuadrillero received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leonides Matteo came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilmar Cuadrillero slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 74th minute. 79 minutes into the game, Nardo Tuo lined in a short shot 0-10 behind a frustrated Leonides Matteo. Piearres Somiedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Piearres Somiedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Leonides Matteo made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Nardo Tuo took a quick shot and it went in 0-11 without a chance for Leonides Matteo to make any attempt to save it. In the 96th minute of the match, Nardo Tuo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leonides Matteo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the final whistle sounded Sporting Buceo left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than PLUMIN.
