In the 12th minute of the match Dr Lecter SC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mauro Romero ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 14th match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corneliu Dridu to maneuver through the defense. Celso Trevisan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute of play. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corneliu Dridu's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Celso Trevisan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 34th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Trevisan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dr Lecter SC's Celso Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of play. Dr Lecter SC's Mauro Romero was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corneliu Dridu in the 51st minute of the match. Corneliu Dridu might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Corneliu Dridu ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Corneliu Dridu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corneliu Dridu in the 60th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Celso Trevisan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 92 minutes into the game, Corneliu Dridu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dr Lecter SC's Wanderson Fernandez was substituted for Omid Kaulbach. Dr Lecter SC made a substitution. Dieguinho de Medeiros replaced Válbson Batista. The Dr Lecter SC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
