The supporters of Ecuador booed when Matungo Gaúcho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. 龙森景 didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ademir Baptista was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Borges, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After 22 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gilmar Borges who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ademir Baptista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Celedonio Florinio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ademir Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Josué Pinheiro in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ademir Baptista. Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Josué Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Matungo Gaúcho made a substitution. Diego Baresi replaced Renan de Senna. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Diego Baresi kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Josué Pinheiro made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Marcinho Sena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Ademir Baptista made a huge save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Gilmar Borges shot from long distance after 71 played minutes, a shot that Julio Vera with certain difficulty stopped from going in under the crossbar. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josué Pinheiro's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. After 75 minutes, Gilmar Borges made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Matungo Gaúcho's Gilmar Borges got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Matungo Gaúcho's Josué Pinheiro in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ademir Baptista made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Pinheiro in the 95th minute of play. In the 98th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilmar Borges took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 99th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Matungo Gaúcho.
