Mihály Földesi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Norberd Valentík made a huge save. After 4 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by Gusztáv Győrffy. Dušan Glenda kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Mihály Csontos in the 14th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by AFK Petržalka's Juraj Poliovka. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zsolt Vörös in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberd Valentík prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dénes Boross succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 19th playminute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dénes Boross got free with Norberd Valentík in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dénes Boross's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Norberd Valentík skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Zsolt Vörös who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Norberd Valentík when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Zsolt Vörös had several of the AFK Petržalka's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 28 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Norberd Valentík as he didn't even see the shot coming. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihály Földesi in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberd Valentík prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 32 minutes AFK Petržalka's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferenc Jászberényi who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Zsolt Vörös heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Mihály Csontos hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roland Záhoran in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Róbert Kormos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Roland Záhoran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Róbert Kormos was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Róbert Kormos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roland Záhoran's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Tibor Barmoš got a free kick in the 44th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tibor Barmoš made a kick off. Norberd Valentík took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihály Földesi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Norberd Valentík showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dénes Boross in the 55th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihály Földesi in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberd Valentík prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dušan Glenda was extremely unlucky when he, in the 56th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Róbert Kormos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dušan Glenda, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 62 minutes into the game, Roland Záhoran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFK Petržalka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szombathely Squirrels the free kick. In the 62nd match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Záhoran to maneuver through the defense. The AFK Petržalka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Roland Záhoran struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Róbert Kormos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFK Petržalka. Mihály Földesi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Norberd Valentík having to make a save. In the 94th minute, Roland Záhoran made a precise shot to the right of Róbert Kormos. Szombathely Squirrels's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Szombathely Squirrels were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of AFK Petržalka for a fine match.
