The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Igelström in the 2nd minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Róbert Kormos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 2 minutes of play, Kingpins's Harry Igelström made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Róbert Kormos was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Kingpins booed when Szombathely Squirrels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Szilárd Csikós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lajos Jakó kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. The long shot by Sven Bållström in the 10th minute really tested Róbert Kormos's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 12th minute, Magnus Mus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Charles Lenberg's late challenge caught a Szombathely Squirrels's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charles Lenberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th match minute, Kingpins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ture Torsberg to maneuver through the defense. After 21 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by Zsolt Vörös. Szombathely Squirrels's Róbert Kormos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars-Erik Ivarsson in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Szombathely Squirrels getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Mihály Földesi hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the game, Harry Igelström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Róbert Kormos. Harry Igelström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. The audience was convinced that Harry Igelström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Róbert Kormos was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. After 42 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by Zsolt Vörös. Sven Bållström received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Róbert Kormos came out and tried to block the shot, but Sven Bållström slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mikael Ekeberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sven Bållström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Róbert Kormos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven Bållström in the 56th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven Bållström in the 57th minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Róbert Kormos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Róbert Kormos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikael Ekeberg in the 58th minute of play. Mikael Ekeberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kingpins made a substitution. Ove Modig replaced Scipio Africano. Róbert Kormos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lars-Erik Ivarsson's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Szombathely Squirrels's Róbert Kormos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven Bållström in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's Lajos Jakó got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Róbert Kormos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikael Ekeberg in the 75th minute of play. After some careless play in the Szombathely Squirrels defense, Mikael Ekeberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Róbert Kormos. The Szombathely Squirrels fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Róbert Kormos should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Kingpins booed when Szombathely Squirrels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Szilárd Csikós didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's Olivér Cselényi got a free kick in the 88th minute. When Krisztián György fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szombathely Squirrels's protests and gave Krisztián György a yellow card for diving instead. 97 minutes into the match, Lars-Erik Ivarsson notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Szombathely Squirrels's Róbert Kormos. Róbert Kormos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Kingpins fully deserved thier win.
