Dénes Boross didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute there was a penalty for Strömsbro IF. Ivan Billberg stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Róbert Kormos. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Ivan Billberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Strömsbro IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Billberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Róbert Kormos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Szombathely Squirrels's Gusztáv Győrffy got a free kick in the 13th minute. Ivan Billberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Róbert Kormos made a huge save. In the 17th minute, Jens-Ola Norberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 19 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by Ferenc Jászberényi. Szombathely Squirrels's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Ivan Billberg scored to the left of an out of position Róbert Kormos, making the score, 2-0. In the 27thth minute of the game Mihály Földesi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Strömsbro IF's Per-Olof Walroth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Szombathely Squirrels's Róbert Kormos got control of the ball when Ivan Billberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörn Hermansson in the 33rd minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Róbert Kormos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Billberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Róbert Kormos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goal looked a bit too open when Mihály Földesi came free, but Per-Olof Walroth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Mihály Földesi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Szombathely Squirrels fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After a rather tough play, Strömsbro IF's Jan-Erik Ingemarsson got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Per-Olof Walroth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihály Földesi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

After 54 minutes, Lajos Jakó mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Szombathely Squirrels and the Strömsbro IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 54 played minutes Szombathely Squirrels got a freekick which was hit by Lajos Jakó. Ivan Billberg struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Róbert Kormos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Strömsbro IF. Jörn Hermansson kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Szombathely Squirrels's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Billberg came free, but Róbert Kormos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Róbert Kormos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörn Hermansson in the 67th minute of the match. A collision led to Strömsbro IF getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Jan-Erik Ingemarsson hit a great ball. After 74 played minutes, Szombathely Squirrels's Ferenc Jászberényi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Per-Olof Walroth came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Szombathely Squirrels reached it. 74 minutes into the game, Rickard Söder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Strömsbro IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szombathely Squirrels the free kick. Szombathely Squirrels's Ferenc Jászberényi shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 75th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Per-Olof Walroth but with some difficulty. Róbert Kormos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörn Hermansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Ivan Billberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Róbert Kormos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Billberg in the 82nd minute of play. When Zsolt Vörös came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Szombathely Squirrels fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zsolt Vörös couldn't finish the play. Dénes Boross came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Per-Olof Walroth could save by the left post. Zsolt Vörös blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Per-Olof Walroth having to make a save. Per-Olof Walroth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zsolt Vörös in the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Jan-Erik Ingemarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jens-Ola Norberg kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
