In the 15th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bayan Gugovski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bayan Gugovski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of the match. Bayan Gugovski came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 22 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Bayan Gugovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 minutes Merengue FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 25th minute of the match, Darwin Núñez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Merengue FC were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ediberto Sampaio took the corner. Ismael Frances made a great header on Merengue FC's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. 28 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Bayan Gugovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bayan Gugovski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 35 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Bayan Gugovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Bayan Gugovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Darwin Núñez tried to sneak it across the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Merengue FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bayan Gugovski came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Merengue FC's Bayan Gugovski got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darwin Núñez, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Bayan Gugovski however easily saved by the left post. With 67 minutes on the clock, Antonio Arias commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 66 minutes into the game, one of Ecuador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Ediberto Sampaio:s penalty. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 80 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ismael Frances during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ecuador's Diego Mancebo was substituted for Cristian Sancho. In the 83rd match minute, Merengue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ismael Frances to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Merengue FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Darwin Núñez came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Merengue FC throughout the match.
