Feliciano Ayala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 10 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Feliciano Ayala was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 13th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliciano Ayala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hipolito Rozarius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliciano Ayala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play forced Santos de Buenos Aires FC's goalkeeper Feliciano Ayala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Feliciano Ayala was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 27th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Feliciano Ayala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Feliciano Ayala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Albino Canor sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute, Albino Canor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Feliciano Ayala didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The supporters of Santos de Buenos Aires FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Amado Corderall cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Teodosio James kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Luis Andino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Feliciano Ayala came out and tried to block the shot, but Luis Andino slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 53rd minute. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Seber in the 61st minute of play. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Santos de Buenos Aires FC made a substitution. Raimundo Joey replaced Danilo Seber. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Remir came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albino Canor in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, Santos de Buenos Aires FC's Feliciano Ayala got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Feliciano Ayala was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cristian Sancho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-5 in the 94 minute of play. Ecuador played a much better game than Santos de Buenos Aires FC and deserved their victory. The Santos de Buenos Aires FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
