Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 6th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, USA's Edward Mcdonald sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alvaro Rotili narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexander Bottone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Udinese's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. Edward Mcdonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexander Bottone who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Marco Day when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Alexander Bottone kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marco Day. That made the score 1-0 in the 33 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olivér Bierhoff got free with Marco Day in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alvaro Rotili didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Monty Rogers went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Cassius Byrne sped through A.S. Udinese's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alvaro Rotili. Marco Day didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 43rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-2.

The wind increased when Cassius Byrne made the kick off in the second half. Monty Rogers who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Alvaro Rotili when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Monty Rogers had several of the A.S. Udinese's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 52 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-3 score and a disappointed Alvaro Rotili as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, USA's Raphael Moore got a free kick in the 57th minute. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Alberigo Di Franco replaced Augusto Clemente. Raphael Moore kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cassius Byrne. 69 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Bottone came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Ercole Fiorentino replaced Alexander Bottone. A.S. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ercole Fiorentino in the 79th minute of play. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam Campbell in the 83rd minute of the match. USA's Monty Rogers got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers.
