Udinese's Alexander Bottone ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marco Day. Marco Day yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 8 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's Alexander Bottone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marco Day narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cassius Byrne scored 1-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvaro Rotili, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Alexander Bottone tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 18th minute, Cassius Byrne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Bottone in the 21st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexander Bottone got free with Marco Day in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jenson Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cassius Byrne struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Alvaro Rotili didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for USA. When Monty Rogers came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Monty Rogers couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd match minute, A.S. Udinese was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Bottone to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 33rd minute of play. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Monty Rogers got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A.S. Udinese's Alberigo Di Franco was substituted for Augusto Clemente. 68 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 68th minute of play forced A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edmondo Giorda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. USA were awarded a corner in the 95th minute after A.S. Udinese's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jenson Smith took the corner. The corner led to USA's Khalid Parry getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After 97 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for USA! USA were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
