In the 17th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Robert Dubiel fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lars-Erik Lidström hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfons Glad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Alfons Glad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leif Löfdahl. In the 39th minute Segmon IF were awarded a corner. Joseph Österlund went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Segmon IF's corner Robert Dubiel fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Camilo Gaos charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gaos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Dubiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leif Löfdahl to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joseph Österlund hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Segmon IF's Leif Löfdahl has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 54th minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Robert Dubiel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. A hard shot by Camilo Gaos from long distance, 64 minutes into the match, got Alfons Glad's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Alfons Glad made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Segmon IF defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfons Glad. The Segmon IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfons Glad should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leif Löfdahl's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leif Löfdahl in the 86th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viktor Biörnberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. A nice corner shot did that Joseph Österlund got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 95th minute, Joseph Österlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Venezuela eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
