But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. Angelo Boni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Andriy Shevchenko's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 16 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Andriy Shevchenko who took care of the corner kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Farafulla FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Behçet Alp in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angelo Boni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 29th minute, Fabio Alfieri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Angelo Boni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 30th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Angelo Boni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Portanares came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Angelo Boni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Behçet Alp in the 51st minute of play. After 52 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Farafulla FC's Ryan Portanares. But to his dismay, Ryan Portanares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 70 minutes into the match, Farafulla FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Angelo Boni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Farafulla FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 74 minutes of play, Farafulla FC's Behçet Alp made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ryan Portanares in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Boni having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ryan Portanares, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The audience was convinced that Ryan Portanares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 87th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Farafulla FC's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Boni came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Farafulla FC's Angelo Boni got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Behçet Alp kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th match minute, Farafulla FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Alfieri to maneuver through the defense.
