An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of play forced Farafulla FC's goalkeeper Angelo Boni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 0-1 became the score in the 8th minute when Daniel Zorita elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 13 played minutes Farafulla FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Alfieri. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelo Boni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angelo Boni having to make a save. 20 minutes into the game, Behçet Alp cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Behçet Alp in the 38th minute of play. 43 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelo Boni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.

With a little luck, Farafulla FC's Angelo Boni got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Angelo Boni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agustín Saelices in the 57th minute. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Angelo Boni to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Boni having to interfere. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Boni having to interfere. In the 80th minute, Alfredo Pantani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Angelo Boni made a huge save. After 86 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Boni was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Farafulla FC throughout the match.
