In the 16th minute, Andriy Shevchenko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. But to his dismay, Andriy Shevchenko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The supporters of Farafulla FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andriy Shevchenko in the 55th minute of play. Farafulla FC's Angelo Boni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Farafulla FC from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Behçet Alp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ryan Portanares came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Ceci, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute Alfredo Pantani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ryan Portanares fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Farafulla FC's protests and gave Ryan Portanares a yellow card for diving instead. Farafulla FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
