Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abelardo Medeiros to make the kick off. Moises Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 67th minute Sebastian Villa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Will Muralhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 84 minutes in the game, Moises Tafalla fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Will Muralhas having to interfere. SE Palmeiras's Will Muralhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Villa in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute of the match Honduras got a corner. SE Palmeiras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edmundo Espiga ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Honduras's Edmundo Espiga to fire away a dangerous shot which Will Muralhas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Honduras were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
