Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Rene Vereijt successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 9 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Jedrzej Kiszkiel came free, but Branislav Velchevski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, FC Ouagadougou National's William Westelinx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Branislav Velchevski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Rene Vereijt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Genaro Mercurio in the 24th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Ouagadougou National's Sean Westelinx. Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jedrzej Kiszkiel in the 32nd minute of the match. Genaro Mercurio thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Branislav Velchevski, a very annoying self made goal in the 35th minute which led to 0-2. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Westelinx in the 38th minute of play. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Westelinx, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elpidio Francis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rene Vereijt having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

William Westelinx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. Rene Vereijt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Francis, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jedrzej Kiszkiel in the 61st minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's William Westelinx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Branislav Velchevski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th match minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Mercurio to maneuver through the defense. After 67 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Mercurio. William Westelinx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. Branislav Velchevski made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when William Westelinx sent off a good shot on target. FC Ouagadougou National's Juan Santi was substituted for William Westelinx. FC Ouagadougou National's Sean Westelinx quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Genaro Mercurio, made in the 72nd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan Santi got free with Branislav Velchevski in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute, André Monclús hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's Juan Santi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Branislav Velchevski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juan Santi succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 76th playminute. Rene Vereijt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Gabon in the 82nd minute of play. After 84 minutes FC Ouagadougou National's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Esteban Iztal who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, FC Ouagadougou National's Juan Santi got a free kick in the 88th minute. Rene Vereijt was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 95 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Santi. FC Ouagadougou National's Rene Vereijt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Monclús in the 98th minute of play.
