With an all-out effort, Poli Timisoara's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tiger De Hond, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 18th minute Poli Timisoara were awarded a corner. Horst-Peter Unterberger went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Poli Timisoara's corner Horst-Peter Unterberger fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. With an all-out effort, Poli Timisoara's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tiger De Hond, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 23rd minute, Mauro Primeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29th minute Bartosz Erland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Poli Timisoara booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd match minute, Poli Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julien-Nils Trede to maneuver through the defense. After 34 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. In the 38th minute of the match, Mauro Primeiro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Poli Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sascha Kulovitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Ovidiu Adrian skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Bartosz Erland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Tomas Illescas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ovidiu Adrian. The goal made the score 1-1. The Poli Timisoara fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Poli Timisoara's Mauro Primeiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 64th minute, Adib Ovi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartosz Erland in the 75th minute of play. Bartosz Erland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tiger De Hond had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Primeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tiger De Hond struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Poli Timisoara. Bartosz Erland might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bartosz Erland ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartosz Erland in the 93rd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Primeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
