Tao Xi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tao Xi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of play forced Flames FC's goalkeeper Tao Xi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Flames FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Felix Montes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tao Xi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 22nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tao Xi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices scored 0-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tao Xi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flames FC's Tao Xi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play forced Flames FC's goalkeeper Tao Xi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Flames FC's Diego Lopes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-1 after 31 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute of the match İbrahim Efe Hekimoğlu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Tao Xi made a huge save. A hard shot 59 in the game by Daniel Zorita from a close distance when the talented Tao Xi managed to make a qualified save. Flames FC's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diego Lopes in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tao Xi could save by the left post. Flames FC's Tao Xi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Flames FC from getting a goal against them. Flames FC's Camille Trudeau was substituted for Amat Mata. Flames FC made a substitution. Stoyne Dushev replaced Miguel Campos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Lopes in the 84th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tao Xi. Agustín Saelices showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flames FC's goalkeeper Tao Xi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Lopes came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
