Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Estudiantes de América's Bernardo Ado started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Rolando Erasto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Estudiantes de América defense, Isidoro Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Erasto. The Estudiantes de América fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Erasto should have stopped the shot. Lino Ekialde hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Ekialde in the 14th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Miguel Miralles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Miralles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Erasto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 22 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Berganza. Rolando Erasto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de América's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Sarmiento came free, but Rolando Erasto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Erasto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Miralles in the 33rd minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Rolando Erasto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lino Ekialde blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Cotilla having to make a save. 40 minutes into the game, Bernardo Ado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes de América's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. A collision led to Estudiantes de América getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Bernardo Ado hit a great ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Berganza made a kick off. Alex Cambeiro hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Eustacio Rito took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcos Cotilla. Panama's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Rolando Erasto in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Erasto having to interfere. Anselmo Orlan kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th match minute, Estudiantes de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prospero Abadia to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 69th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Rolando Erasto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Estudiantes de América's Gustavo Bautista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Ekialde, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Rolando Erasto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Bernardo Quiroga charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernardo Quiroga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernardo Quiroga kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Erasto having to interfere. Panama played a much better game than Estudiantes de América and deserved their victory. The Estudiantes de América players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
