The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Horácio Pereira during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Horácio Pereira hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes, Edgardo Lleir mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Falckner FC and the SORRISO E. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. SORRISO E. C. made a substitution. Thiago de Lara replaced Raphael Peixoto. After a rather tough play, Falckner FC's Edgardo Lleir got a free kick in the 18th minute. Amancio Paez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Mendonça went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 22 minutes, Betinho Queiroz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SORRISO E. C. and the Falckner FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, SORRISO E. C.'s Douglas Viana got control of the ball when Edgardo Lleir tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robustiano Izel hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The supporters of Falckner FC booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Arantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Falckner FC's Edgardo Lleir ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Douglas Viana. Douglas Viana yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After 29 played minutes Falckner FC got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Bernard. 32 minutes into the match, Falckner FC's Wilfredo Gil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Douglas Viana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Mendonça in the 34th minute of play forced Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horácio Pereira took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amancio Paez. Amancio Paez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Alfredo da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amancio Paez having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgardo Lleir made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Alfredo da Rocha took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Amancio Paez to make any attempt to save it. Amancio Paez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alberto Mendonça showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 62 minute of play. After 66 minutes of play Falckner FC's Edgardo Lleir was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Edgardo Lleir hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. When SORRISO E. C.'s Alberto Mendonça, in the 69th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for SORRISO E. C.. The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when Falckner FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionisio Emesto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Falckner FC's Amancio Paez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Falckner FC from getting a goal against them. 76 minutes into the match, Falckner FC's goalkeeper Amancio Paez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Mendonça. After 77 played minutes Alberto Mendonça rounded Falckner FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-5. Alberto Mendonça received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Amancio Paez came out and tried to block the shot, but Alberto Mendonça slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 81st minute.
