After 5 minutes, Moreta Jaurigui mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A. GUAYACO and the SORRISO E. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Moreta Jaurigui kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute of the match Rodrigo Penha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Mejia skillfully saved the ball. Xicu Fonseca hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute Alfredo da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Mejia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Douglas Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Víctor Urioste, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Douglas Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Víctor Urioste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Mejia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Mendonça in the 34th minute. C.A. GUAYACO's Hugo Mejia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Mendonça in the 36th minute of play. Alberto Mendonça in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hugo Mejia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vela Garros to strike the kick off in the second half. GUAYACO's protests and gave Víctor Urioste a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to C.A. GUAYACO getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Víctor Urioste hit a great ball. Hugo Mejia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horácio Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Mendonça in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hugo Mejia saved C.A. GUAYACO from getting behind. SORRISO E. C. were furious when Yan Penha was red carded, 91 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in SORRISO E. C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! C.A. GUAYACO's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
