Szilárd Csikós's late challenge caught a SORRISO E. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Szilárd Csikós helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Szombathely Squirrels getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Szilárd Csikós hit a great ball. In the 15th minute of the match, Horácio Pereira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Antal Budai saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 16th minute Alberto Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antal Budai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute Dénes Boross shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute Zsolt Vörös shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Viana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Antal Budai was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Alfredo da Rocha capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. The audience was convinced that Alberto Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antal Budai was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dénes Boross in the 47th minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Douglas Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Pereira in the 51st minute of play forced Szombathely Squirrels's goalkeeper Antal Budai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Mihály Földesi took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Douglas Viana to make any attempt to save it. Horácio Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antal Budai having to interfere. The supporters of Szombathely Squirrels booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Szombathely Squirrels's Mihály Földesi got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antal Budai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Mendonça in the 81st minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, SORRISO E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Mihály Földesi came free, but Douglas Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Szombathely Squirrels's Antal Budai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio Pereira in the 93rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Szilárd Csikós got free with Douglas Viana in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Szombathely Squirrels walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
