Remigio Joanes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Mendonça in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Urbez in the 33rd minute of play forced SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper Valdo Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Falckner FC's Herminio Ourente got a free kick in the 44th minute. Cláudio Couto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 53 played minutes Falckner FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Gil. SORRISO E. C.'s Valdo Catarinense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save SORRISO E. C. from getting a goal against them. Valdo Catarinense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonas Urbez in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute, Wilfredo Gil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ivan Reynardo fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Falckner FC's protests and gave Ivan Reynardo a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 played minutes Falckner FC got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Reynardo. Falckner FC's Wilfredo Gil quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mateus Salgado, made in the 64th minute of the game. Dionisio Emesto hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the last second Valdo Catarinense throw himself and got hold of the ball when Jonas Urbez in the 71stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 72nd match minute, Falckner FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Lluis to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 74 minutes, Horácio Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SORRISO E. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Horácio Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remigio Joanes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Mateus Salgado in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Falckner FC's Dionisio Emesto. With an all-out effort, Falckner FC's Valdo Catarinense threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfonso Lluis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 88th minute of the match Falckner FC got a corner. SORRISO E. C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jonas Urbez ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Ivan Reynardo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After having played for 94 minutes, Reinaldo Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SORRISO E. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Reinaldo Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SORRISO E. C. were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
