The supporters of SORRISO E. C. booed when Herblay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Keller didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute Horácio Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jules Triboulet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdo Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Charles Gauche, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Alberto Mendonça notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Herblay's Jules Triboulet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Pereira in the 35th minute of play forced Herblay's goalkeeper Jules Triboulet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malik Vrignon kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 36thth minute. Though ot was a great shot SORRISO E. C.'s keeper Valdo Catarinense was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. After 37 minutes, Alberto Mendonça made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Herblay's Jules Triboulet tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cláudio Couto took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jules Triboulet. Jules Triboulet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alberto Mendonça to make the kick off. Alberto Mendonça scored 0-5 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jules Triboulet, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56th minute, Antonin Daguerre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Mendonça really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Horácio Pereira might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jules Triboulet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Horácio Pereira ran back to his position shaking his head. Leopoldo Trancoso helped the player get up and apologised. If Jean-Charles Gauche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo Madureira hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Antonin Daguerre might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Valdo Catarinense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonin Daguerre ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, SORRISO E. C.'s Jairo Madureira got a free kick in the 95th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Jean-Charles Gauche managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herblay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean-Charles Gauche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
