C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Club Atlético Atlanta's Aquiles Oihenarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio Pereira in the 10th minute of play. Teobaldo Milian received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Valdo Catarinense came out and tried to block the shot, but Teobaldo Milian slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 13th minute. Valdo Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teobaldo Milian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Teobaldo Milian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Horácio Pereira came free, but Aquiles Oihenarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute, Júlio Eger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SORRISO E. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Mendonça came free, but Aquiles Oihenarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Júlio Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 52 minutes, Aquiles Oihenarte successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horácio Pereira in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aquiles Oihenarte saved Club Atlético Atlanta from getting behind. 59 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Mendonça came free, but Aquiles Oihenarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Teobaldo Milian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdo Catarinense was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. After 65 played minutes SORRISO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Horácio Pereira. Valdo Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teobaldo Milian in the 68th minute of the match. Aquiles Oihenarte didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 71st minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. After some careless play in the Club Atlético Atlanta defense, Alberto Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aquiles Oihenarte. The Club Atlético Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aquiles Oihenarte should have stopped the shot. Pedro Rojelio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Valdo Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute Rene Luzea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdo Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquiles Oihenarte having to interfere. The SORRISO E. C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SORRISO E. C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
