Falckner FC's Loco De la Maza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emesto Llames in the 16th minute of play. Baltazar Clavijo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Loco De la Maza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Emesto Llames charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emesto Llames the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Emesto Llames hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Loco De la Maza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Levander, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 27th match minute, Falckner FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Librado to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund's Baltazar Clavijo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Loco De la Maza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 34th minute Severino Gabrio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yao Zhan Sang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Julien Steuble fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Falckner FC's protests and gave Julien Steuble a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Falckner FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julien Steuble didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute Fernando Grover shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loco De la Maza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 39 played minutes Falckner FC got a freekick which was hit by Urbano Shantala. Loco De la Maza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emesto Llames, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gianluca Vialli scored 1-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yao Zhan Sang, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Falckner FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Librado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yakup Sargut came free in the 49th minute and tried to tip the ball over Loco De la Maza, but to the joy of Falckner FC's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Gianluca Vialli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Yao Zhan Sang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Gianluca Vialli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Yao Zhan Sang was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Gianluca Vialli took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yao Zhan Sang. Yao Zhan Sang dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Gianluca Vialli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yakup Sargut made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Falckner FC's Gaspar Baraquiel. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Gabrio in the 81st minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Yao Zhan Sang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Loco De la Maza was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Yakup Sargut. Loco De la Maza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Grover's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Loco De la Maza successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Borussia Dortmund made a substitution. Fernandez Quintairos replaced Tomas Levander. In the 94th minute of the match Borussia Dortmund got a corner. Falckner FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yakup Sargut ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Yakup Sargut got a free kick in the 98th minute.
