The referee ignored Fc Benefica's protests and gave Hugo Andriessen a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of ATHLETICO PRaiano booed when Fc Benefica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Andriessen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodriguinho Sousa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leandro Soares's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Leandro Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leandro Soares in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodriguinho Sousa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mitchel Dijkstra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralf Albäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to ATHLETICO PRaiano getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Gu Zhan Cheng hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deilmison van Basten in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mitchel Dijkstra saved Fc Benefica from getting behind. Mitchel Dijkstra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deilmison van Basten, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

Mitchel Dijkstra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 54th minute. Mitchel Dijkstra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralf Albäck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ralf Albäck took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mitchel Dijkstra. Mitchel Dijkstra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 72nd minute of play. Mitchel Dijkstra had great luck who in the 72ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Deilmison van Basten from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Leandro Soares scored 3-1 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodriguinho Sousa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leandro Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Fc Benefica had won after a very even match.
