The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7thth minute of the game Ciprian Toma who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kenya's Tony Githinji Muhoho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Niculae Ailenei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Mohamed in the 9th minute of the match. Tony Githinji Muhoho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stelian Murgu in the 10th minute. Tony Githinji Muhoho came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Romania's Ciprian Toma. But to his dismay, Ciprian Toma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Niculae Ailenei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Mohamed, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute Ciprian Toma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Githinji Muhoho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Githinji Muhoho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciprian Toma in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Mohamed in the 21st minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Niculae Ailenei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Githinji Muhoho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gigi Joanță in the 23rd minute. Ciprian Toma scored 2-0 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Githinji Muhoho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Niculae Ailenei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Mohamed, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ciprian Toma stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tony Githinji Muhoho came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Romania's Ciprian Toma. But to his dismay, Ciprian Toma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Niculae Ailenei made an important save on a dangerous shot by Haroun Korir in the 57th minute. Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stelian Murgu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, Romania's goalkeeper Niculae Ailenei had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tony Mohamed. Romania made a substitution. Suleiman Süleyman replaced Ciprian Toma. Romania's attentive Xavi Popescu managed to snatch the ball when Francis Kariuki made a throw-in in the 67th minute of the game. 68 minutes into the game, Francis Kariuki threw the ball into play from the sideline. Romania's Xavi Popescu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 69th minute Suleiman Süleyman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Githinji Muhoho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romania's Niculae Ailenei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Romania from getting a goal against them. Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suleiman Süleyman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Suleiman Süleyman in the 78th minute of play forced Kenya's goalkeeper Tony Githinji Muhoho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Romania's Niculae Ailenei got control of the ball when Haroun Korir tried to sneak it across the goal line. Suleiman Süleyman took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tony Githinji Muhoho. Tony Githinji Muhoho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Romania fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kenya had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
