Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Walter Asklöv during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aaron Alcocer got a free kick in the 11th minute. After 15 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. In the 27th minute, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Juan Rubio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Costa Rica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Juan Rubio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! Benito Sanz had in the 29thth minute some difficulties stopping Konrad Lindström's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Konrad Lindström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Viktor Blomberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. When spikarna's Per-Arne Lång in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eliseo Noboa to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, spikarna's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Eliseo Noboa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Noboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viktor Blomberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Eliseo Noboa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Viktor Blomberg. That made the score 1-1 in the 72 minute of play. Viktor Blomberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viktor Blomberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Arne Lång, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Adam Rosendahl hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
