In the 41st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Saverio Matthew came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulf Zachrisson in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Ulf Zachrisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute, Saverio Matthew left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Övertorneå RK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Övertorneå RK's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vilgot Palmquist came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Mech's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ulf Zachrisson in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 69th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saverio Matthew, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Almqvist in the 76th minute of play. With a little luck, Övertorneå RK's Vilgot Palmquist got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 91 minutes, Alex Chicote mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Övertorneå RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Övertorneå RK:s goal. The referee gave Övertorneå RK a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Harry Almqvist, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. 4-1. Vilgot Palmquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 95th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saverio Matthew in the 97th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Övertorneå RK fully deserved thier win.
