Zarco Lameiras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zarco Lameiras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Portugal in the 14th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Pascual Carballar got a free kick in the 17th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Tomás Portugal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Clube Patrício's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Portugal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Tomás Portugal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. After 21 played minutes, Colombia's Axel Montenegro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ademar Azevedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Colombia reached it. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Zarco Lameiras kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Ademar Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th match minute, Sporting Clube Patrício was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Noronha to maneuver through the defense. Axel Montenegro scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ademar Azevedo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 34th minute, Mauro Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Axel Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ademar Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. Matei Gafița hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After 41 minutes, Mauro Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sporting Clube Patrício and the Colombia players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Colombia booed when Sporting Clube Patrício was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting Clube Patrício's Ademar Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 44th minute of play. Ademar Azevedo came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Colombia's Axel Montenegro. But to his dismay, Axel Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. Tomás Portugal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Manzanares having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube Patrício's Zarco Lameiras got a free kick in the 64th minute. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Portugal in the 78th minute of play. Tomás Portugal scored 2-2 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ademar Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kevin Mastache in the 91st minute. After 94 minutes of play, Colombia's Kevin Mastache made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ademar Azevedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! A sloppy throw-in by André Noronha in the 97th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Abram Secada. Ademar Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Secada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Colombia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
