Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Mexico's Joel Gaona started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Dale Dolar sent off a good shot on target. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Amílton Loyola was slow to take the kick. During this time Barcellos Mineiro FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Barcellos Mineiro FC's Dale Dolar getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Patricio Ugutz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Patricio Ugutz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patricio Ugutz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Mexico's Joel Gaona looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Patricio Ugutz made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target.
