Agustín Saelices's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruben Montez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goalkeeper Ruben Montez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claes Fender in the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Ruben Montez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Claes Fender had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claes Fender sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the game, Claes Fender cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aquilino Damásio struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hala Madrid Iraki FC. A collision led to Hala Madrid Iraki FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Marcelo Gallarde hit a great ball. Felix Montes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ruben Montez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Claes Fender could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Claes Fender slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 2-0 after 47 minutes of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Ruben Montez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Hala Madrid Iraki FC from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Ruben Montez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ruben Montez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 56th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Agustín Saelices kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ruben Montez. That made the score 2-1 in the 59 minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Claes Fender came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goalkeeper Ruben Montez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Johannes Sjögren was substituted for Claes Fender. Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Stefan Danielsson was substituted for Valentin Axelsson. Primitivo Andino made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Jaime Egaña. After a defensive mix-up in Hala Madrid Iraki FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruben Montez came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. Aquilino Damásio's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aquilino Damásio helped the player get up and apologised. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Hala Madrid Iraki FC had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
