Jose Montes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. NECKER49's Felix Santos quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Salvador Gisbert, made in the 13th minute of the game. Jose Montes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of NECKER49's Jose Montes. Jose Montes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 26 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. 30 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NECKER49 the free kick. The supporters of NECKER49 booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Jose Montes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Venezuela's attack was well implemented in the 61st minute, but when Joshua Secada was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Jose Montes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 76 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jose Montes. Tomas Illescas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. NECKER49's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Patricio Costa scored to the left of an out of position Jose Montes, making the score, 0-5. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jose Montes came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Illescas slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 85th minute. 88 minutes into the match, NECKER49's goalkeeper Jose Montes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Jose Montes made a huge save. Venezuela played a much better game than NECKER49 and deserved their victory. The NECKER49 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
