Dario Astigar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 39 played minutes SAN LORENZO FC got a freekick which was hit by Lv Tian Yuan. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dario Astigar having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Lisandro Nuñez kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Lisandro Nuñez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 77th minute, Shao Zhen Xiao sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ecuador's Julio Vera didn't even have to move. Ciriaco Cordarrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciriaco Cordarrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Zorita the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 88th minute. Ciriaco Cordarrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
