But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Monty Rogers couldn't finish the play. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliciano Haritzeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Higinio Aguilera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassius Byrne in the 29th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Marco Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Indiana Jones. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Jyrki Sillanpää got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Los Hijos de Doña Beija made a substitution. Luís Fábio Rocha replaced Indiana Jones. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio Rocha in the 71st minute of play. 71 minutes into the game, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Luís Fábio Rocha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marco Day made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 75th minute of play forced Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goalkeeper Higinio Aguilera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Albino Brion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Adan Inge was substituted for Abelardo Domenec. If Sam Campbell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. Albino Brion fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Day having to interfere. The corner ended in Jenson Smith almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera did a great save. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
