The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serbülent Baysan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Daniel Zorita scored 1-2 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Serbülent Baysan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eufemio Ehijo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador played a much better game than FC Anderlecht Huachipato and deserved their victory. The FC Anderlecht Huachipato players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
