Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lisandro Mikolas couldn't finish the play. The referee ignored Ȓᾄvἔᾗṩ Ғ.Ƈ.'s protests and gave Timoteo Firmo a yellow card for diving instead. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
