Oskar Haeger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Dave Di Filippo came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Hermanö Oilers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dave Di Filippo couldn't finish the play. Oskar Haeger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of the match. After 13 played minutes Hermanö Oilers got a freekick which was hit by Ingemar Stålman. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oskar Haeger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harel Minsky's shot from long distance in the 24th minute was not bad at all, but Ecuador's Julio Vera knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. 25 minutes into the match, Hermanö Oilers's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Oskar Haeger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the match, Hermanö Oilers's Valentin Dusett sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Oskar Haeger. Hermanö Oilers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hermanö Oilers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oskar Haeger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. 44 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Dusett came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harry Forsman hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Bror Lilja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Oskar Haeger however easily saved by the left post. In the 55th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Hermanö Oilers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ecuador's Luis Andino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Oskar Haeger in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 62 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oskar Haeger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Oskar Haeger firmly grabbed it by the left post. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Dusett in the 65th minute of play. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valentin Dusett's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oskar Haeger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. If Valentin Dusett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Dusett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Valentin Dusett kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Hermanö Oilers's Luís Eduardo Loureiro was substituted for Horea Popârcea. Hermanö Oilers's Oskar Haeger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Hermanö Oilers from getting a goal against them. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oskar Haeger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Valentin Dusett struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hermanö Oilers. Valentin Dusett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
