Gábor Puskás hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Félix Moravecz in the 9th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Endre Döbrögi during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FlagellumDei was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Endre Döbrögi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in FlagellumDei's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Siro Osasun came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 79 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 92 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zoltán Kozák in the 93rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
