Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Conny Josefsson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 3rd minute of play forced Vilbergen Boys Club's goalkeeper Nils Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Conny Josefsson sent off a good shot on target. Nils Tunander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 25th minute of play. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenny Liljeström, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vilbergen Boys Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nils Tunander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 40 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Vilbergen Boys Club's Nils Tunander. Nils Tunander was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 44th minute Osvald Mattsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils Tunander having to interfere. In the 60th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Luca Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vilbergen Boys Club's Nils Tunander did a great save. Klas Josefsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 73rd minute of play forced Vilbergen Boys Club's goalkeeper Nils Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Vilbergen Boys Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nils Tunander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Nils Tunander successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Vilbergen Boys Club's Nils Tunander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 87th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Facundo Cadaval got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nils Tunander quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Luca Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Vilbergen Boys Club booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Joel Gaona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
