The supporters of Futbol Akademisi booed when Werken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils Maeijnaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ekber Başayoğlu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Waud De Backer. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Abdulmelik Tolun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Futbol Akademisi's Ali Cengiz Özkutsal quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Nicolaas Lanen, made in the 12th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Cengiz Özkutsal in the 12th minute of play forced Werken's goalkeeper Waud De Backer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 42 minutes, Ekber Başayoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Futbol Akademisi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ekber Başayoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Ekber Başayoğlu notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Werken's Waud De Backer. Waud De Backer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nils Maeijnaerts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abdulmelik Tolun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Waud De Backer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ali Cengiz Özkutsal scored 5-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waud De Backer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Ekber Başayoğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waud De Backer was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. If Abdulmelik Tolun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 75 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Ali Cengiz Özkutsal sped through Werken's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Waud De Backer. Waud De Backer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdulmelik Tolun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bill Van Den Hout fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Werken's protests and gave Bill Van Den Hout a yellow card for diving instead. Bill Van Den Hout kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Ekber Başayoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Futbol Akademisi's supporters rose to their feet, but Ekber Başayoğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Waud De Backer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 88th minute, Ekber Başayoğlu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Werken's goal looked a bit too open when Abdulmelik Tolun came free, but Waud De Backer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Ekber Başayoğlu, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 94 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Waud De Backer was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 96 minutes into the game, Frank Jansens threw the ball into play from the sideline. Futbol Akademisi's Ceyhun Kazakhan quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Futbol Akademisi walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
