Turan Coşan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Sousa in the 6th minute of play. When Ali Atıf Oğuztüzün fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karpuzlu's protests and gave Ali Atıf Oğuztüzün a yellow card for diving instead. Turan Coşan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Sousa in the 11th minute of the match. Jerónimo Sacramento made an important save on a dangerous shot by Besim Kutsalan in the 17th minute. After having played for 22 minutes, Hadi Abanoz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karpuzlu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hadi Abanoz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beşir Bozdağ was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. Karpuzlu's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beşir Bozdağ in the 31st minute of play forced Corteagada FC's goalkeeper Jerónimo Sacramento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Karpuzlu booed when Corteagada FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesário Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Beşir Bozdağ managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Karpuzlu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beşir Bozdağ was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Corteagada FC defense, Besim Kutsalan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerónimo Sacramento. The Corteagada FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerónimo Sacramento should have stopped the shot. After 45 played minutes Karpuzlu got a freekick which was hit by Hadi Abanoz. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joaquim Sousa made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joaquim Sousa in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Turan Coşan saved Karpuzlu from getting behind. Beşir Bozdağ struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Jerónimo Sacramento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karpuzlu. In the 53rd minute, Besim Kutsalan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerónimo Sacramento was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Besim Kutsalan in the 56th minute of play forced Corteagada FC's goalkeeper Jerónimo Sacramento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Joaquim Sousa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Turan Coşan was relentless in the 57th minute of the game.
