After 16 minutes of play, Rothwell Park's Walter Mutuku made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Waud De Backer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Waud De Backer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Mutuku in the 19th minute of the match. Werken's Nils Maeijnaerts got his second yellow card of the match in the 21st minute. The referee ordered Nils Maeijnaerts off the ground. Werken's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Walter Mutuku was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Waud De Backer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Mutuku in the 34th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolaas Lanen in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Githinji Muhoho saved Rothwell Park from getting behind. Werken's Waud De Backer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Werken from getting a goal against them. 41 minutes into the match, Rothwell Park's Walter Mutuku sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waud De Backer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 42 played minutes Rothwell Park got a freekick which was hit by Teófilo Vilanova. After 44 played minutes Werken got a freekick which was hit by Nicolaas Lanen. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolaas Lanen was the one to do the kick off. Kristof Olbrechts hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Rothwell Park's Abdallah Ali Bungei was substituted for Elijah Leakey. Tony Githinji Muhoho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolaas Lanen in the 74th minute of play. Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolaas Lanen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rothwell Park's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nicolaas Lanen 79 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-2. In the 83rd minute William Mohamed shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waud De Backer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Werken getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Tristan Machiels hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, William Mohamed hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicolaas Lanen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Githinji Muhoho having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Rothwell Park's goalkeeper Tony Githinji Muhoho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolaas Lanen.
